Reopening Phases

UPDATE:

After the Supreme Court ruling on California’s church and Covid, the Remnant Pastors met online and discussed the possibility of meeting in person again.

During the meeting, we discussed the following:

  • In order to meet together, based on the size of our building, we would have to limit our congregation to no more than 46 people total, staff included. That would mean turning people away once we hit the limit.
  • We would not be allowed to sing during worship.
  • There would be no physical contact amongst people of different families.
  • No coffee or refreshments would be served.
  • We would do our best to enforce mask wearing, as required. To be honest, none of the pastors wanted to be the “mask pastor,” tasked with enforcing the rule.

As such, it was decided that it was in the best interest of our congregation, and our stand of being in obedience to the authorities God placed above us, that we would remain online only at this time.

This was not an easy decision. We struggled with the hardships that meeting online has caused some people. We yearn to meet with you all once again. However, until we can do it safely, legally, and in good conscience, we will remain online.

We are looking into doing an outdoor service on Easter Sunday. More details will follow.

Remnant, thank you for being patient, for loving us, and praying for us. As pastors, your health and well-being is always on our minds. We pray that you will continue to be fed through our Sunday worship times and midweek studies.

We love and miss you all!

The Remnant Pastors

At Remnant, the well-being of our church family is a high priority. Because of this, we do not plan to rush into gathering as a corporate body until we can do so comfortably, without social restrictions and more importantly, safely. Much thought and prayer has gone into this decision, and while it may seem overly cautious, we strongly feel it is the best plan for our church family and friends. We love and miss you. We are praying that we will be able to gather together again soon!

We are also closely monitoring our county’s COVID-19 guidelines and local health officials’ concerns. When we are ready to move forward with reopening, we well be doing so in phases. We will be announcing the phases during our Sunday livestream, on social media, and our website. Please check back with this web-page for updates.

Remnant’s Statement on opening:
1 Peter 2:1314, 18-21

For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, 14 or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.

18 You who are slaves must submit to your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you—not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel. 19 For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently

endure unjust treatment. 20 Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.

21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.

UPCOMING: PHASE 1 (start date to be announced)
